We have various professional disciplines represented on the Board to set priorities and provide guidance on areas of research. This provides a structure for the sharing of experiences and knowledge which exists within the membership and also gives members an opportunity to take part in projects relevant to our own conditions.

A major objective of the Association is education and properly focussed research plays a vital role in providing good quality verified information for us to share.

A national inventory of important and significant gardens, both private and public
An inventory of monumental and nationally important trees on the Algarve
An inventory of plant nurseries on the Algarve
Long term trials for fire resistant trees, native hardwood and cypress species
Creating botanically themed gardens open to the public
Collaboration in preserving natural habitats
Compiling lists of plants recommended for propagation
Study days for groups from schools, adult students and members of other associations
